Workshop on his recent book Logos with Prof. Dr. Raymond Tallis, May 21st 2019, 10–12 a.m.

Raymond Tallis, philosopher and emeritus professor of geriatrics at the University of Manchester, will give a lecture about his most recent monograph Logos. The Mystery of how We Make Sense of the World on Tuesday, 21.05.2019. In his book Raymond Tallis tries to scrutinize why a universe that assumedly was generated by processes ruled by mere chance can ever become intelligible to human thought. He will argue that neither a materialist reductionism nor idealism will ever be in prospect to give a conclusive answer to the question of how thought and being are capable of finding together. As a result of his analysis he will lay out his own approach to the issue without locating the universe inside the mind, or making the mind a mere part of the universe.

All interested persons are cordially invited!
