6th Ernst Robert Curtius-Lecture: Prof. Dr. Lawrence M. Krauss (Tempe)

Since 2009 the International Centre for Philosophy NRW hosts an annual lecture of excellence in honour of Ernst Robert Curtius. This event consists of two parts: a lecture and a colloquium. Our guest speaker this year is Professor Dr. Lawrence M. Krauss (Arizona State University).

Professor Krauss will present a lecture entitled “Cosmology for Philosophers”. The lecture begins at 6 p.m.

The talk is free and open to the public. Everyone interested is cordially invited.

The colloquium will take place on October 17, 2014 at 12 c.t. in the Große Übungsraum of the Department for Philosophy.

Professor Krauss is a theoretical physicist and founder of the “School of Earth and Space Exploration” at Arizona State University. He is the author of several international bestsellers (including The Physics of Star Trek, A Universe from Nothing: Why tthere is Something Rather Than Nothing). As a public intellectual he is often present in the media where he speaks on the topics related to science and educational policy, as well as those related to philosophical problems.
