Möglichkeit, Unmöglichkeit und Notwendigkeit
In the course of the „Kolloquium zur französischen Philosophie“, a workshop takes place on „Möglichkeit, Unmöglichkeit und Notwendigkeit“. Participants are Prof. Dr. Markus Gabriel (Bonn), Dr. Anna Longo (Paris) and Prof. Dr. Claude Romano (Paris).
The workshop focuses expecially on the question of modality in the different new realisms. Our three speakers are actively involved in the current philosophical debate on realism and have developed remarkable new approaches to modality: Markus Gabriel is widely recognised as one of the most important representatives of New Realism, Anna Longo works with Quentin Meillassoux to construe a Speculative Realism and Claude Romano established the so-called Descriptive Realism.
The event begins at 2:15 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
The talks are free of charge and open to the public. Everyone interested is cordially invited.
