Book Launch Event: Towards a New Scientific Realism, von Jan Voosholz

The International Center for Philosophy and the Center for Science and Thought cordially invite you to the book launch event of Jan Voosholz’s newly published work Towards a New Scientific Realism. The book develops a new type of scientific realism beyond naturalism, correlationism, and what the author calls “objective realism.” Jan Voosholz combines a critical engagement with current debates on realism and antirealism in the philosophy of science with contributions from speculative and new realist ontology and epistemology. From this emerges an independent perspective on a pluralistic natural philosophy. The event offers an opportunity for discussion with the author as well as with distinguished experts in the field.

With contributions from:

  • Prof. Dr. Markus Gabriel (University of Bonn)
  • Dr. Jens Pier (Royal Holloway University of London)
  • PD Dr. Jens Rometsch (University of Bonn)

The event is aimed at all those interested in contemporary positions in the realism debate – particularly in the areas of speculative, perspectival, pragmatic, or structural realism, scientific pluralism, feminist empiricism, naturalism, and philosophy of science in general.
